ARGH KiD

ARGH KiD is an English alternative hip hop band from Manchester, England, led by the MC/Poet David Scott. With an eclectic approach to hip hop featuring a live musicians to provide a backdrop to life in austerity UK, with all it flaws and lingering beauty. His first two singles “Frank” and “Neighbours” were met with critical acclaim and support from industry big hitters such as Chris Evans, Janice Long, John Kennedy to name but a few. Their live shows are a high-octane concoction of breakbeats, outstanding musicianship and a powerful and passionated lyrical outpouring rarely seen on stage these days.

Wordsmith Sensation David Scott has toured the country, played to sold out crowds and dazzled millions with his lyrical prowess. The “Acapella Eminem” is now the Official Poet for the NSPCC, UEFA and Manchester United and his work has been broadcast to homes across the globe. There are few artists in his genre able to provide on-point commentary and storytelling with the same spirit, skill and compassion.

David is also a poet on a mission to make the artform accessible to the masses. Using his own experiences as a template he facilitates workshops across the country, creating a sense of what is possible to young people when you pick up a pen.

ARGH KiD is often found across UK media and is a regular on ITV, BBC BT Sport and beyond. His work has been reproduced in different languages and publications around the world from Denmark’s Politiken to The New York Times.

Gary “Gaz” Whelan

Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter Gary Whelan has stepped out from behind the Happy Mondays drum kit and returned to his first instrument, the guitar.  Having weirdly discovered The Sex Pistols and The Beatles on the same day in his early teens, Gary’s zealous love of music and need to create eventually found an outlet with the Ryder brothers and at the age of 15 the Happy Mondays were formed with Gary taking the role of  drums due to an injury leaving him unable to play guitar. Gary continues to tour the world with the Mondays and their, let’s say “colourful history” has been well documented.

Having fine-tuned his songwriting skills over the years while co-writing all the Mondays songs, Gary has been involved in several side projects, a record label in Australia, music producing and writing music for a film.  But now, armed with electric guitar and laptop in hand, Gary has taken his music on the road to play solo shows incorporating current & past solo projects and Happy Mondays back-catalogue alike. His live set is totally engaging with the Manchester legacy mixing in nicely with a heavy dose of electronic soul and some dark yet beautifully offensive lyrics thrown in for good measure.

Gary lives in Greater Toronto with his wife of 29 years and two teenage boys.  He is also a certified meditation teacher and a 15 year long yogi all which have helped him deal with his lifelong OCD and depression.  Gary is committed to music collaborations and promoting new talent.

Carousel Clouds

“Entrancing” – Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music, on Invisible Lines

“What better note to end the show on, than their three-and-a-half-minute epic, Invisible Lines?” – Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

The debut Carousel Clouds album ‘Tales of Coincidence’ was released on 6th April 2018, on Ranch Records.

After three years spent largely in a self-inflicted darkness perfecting the album, Carousel Clouds are now ready to step into the limelight. Recorded with Ding (The Fall, Pixies, Cabbage), and for the most part at their Salford base, The Ranch, the record boasts ten tracks of ‘Ghost-Gaze’ – shoegaze-meets-prog songs, all sprinkled with pop melodies. Shadowy themes continue lyrically, encompassing ominous Tales of the supernatural, of spirituality, loss, and of the afterlife.
